A Genetic Research Laboratory is looking for an Associate Medical Technologist with 2 years or above experience in genetic research lab/ medical lab which offers genetic testing.

Your new role

• Conduct molecular testing on clinical specimens by processing and analysing them according to established standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Handle and process patient samples, which may include whole blood, buccal swabs, saliva, tumour tissues, and normal tissues.
• Extract DNA/RNA from various clinical tissue samples.
• Carry out quality control (QC) and library preparation, operate next/third generation sequencing systems, and use other laboratory equipment and analysers.
• Assist in the development of new protocols and the evaluation of emerging sequencing technologies and analysers.
• Perform daily laboratory tasks, including equipment maintenance, calibration, and routine operations.
• Conduct cell culture work.
• Provide support for the implementation of quality control measures, documentation, internal audits, and external quality assurance programs to meet accreditation standards.

What you'll need to succeed

• Candidates with more experience will be considered as Medical Technologists.
• Bachelor’s degree holder in Science or Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or biochemistry, biology, or related disciplines.
• Part II Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist with a valid Practising Certificate issued by the Medical Laboratory Technologist Board, Hong Kong.
• 2 years or above related to work experience in a genetic research lab/ medical lab which offers genetic testing. Experience in long-read sequencing or short-read sequencing is a bonus.
• Experience in coordination and implementation of quality management systems
