Our client is a Local Trading Company specialising in Metal Trading for PCB production. They are seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor to join their dynamic team. You will be responsible for managing import and export shipping documents, invoicing, delivery orders, shipment tracking, and customs clearance. You will also document health certifications for product traceability.
Your new role
- Ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety standards.
- Coordinate shipping schedules and logistics for inbound and outbound shipments of metal products as regionally based
- Monitor inventory levels and manage the shipping of materials to optimise supply chain efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork.
- Collaborate with internal departments (sales, procurement, warehouse) to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
- Resolve any shipping issues or discrepancies promptly and effectively.
- Train and mentor shipping staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Analyse shipping metrics and prepare reports for management to identify areas for improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping and logistics, preferably in the metal trading or manufacturing industry or consumer electronics
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures, and safety standards.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient at shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
