Senior Legal Counsel, Manufacturing, PRC Operations

Your New Company
Our client is a leading garment manufacturing company that has a workforce of over 50,000 employees, operating over 20 locations across Asia. They are one of the biggest players in their market segment. They are now looking to grow their team and would like to hire a dynamic and experienced manufacturing lawyer to join the team.
Your Role
- Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and support business units on all legal matters.
- Independently draft, review, interpret, and negotiate commercial agreements and other legal documents, demonstrating the ability to function effectively as a one-person team for Chinese operations.
- Manage the contract lifecycle and oversee the company's legal repository.
- Supervise the protection and management of the company's intellectual property, including trademarks and patents.
- Engage with and coordinate external counsel on selected legal matters, both domestically and internationally.
- Monitor the progress of key contract negotiations and outstanding legal cases, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Establish and continuously improve internal legal standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare legal guidance and training materials for internal stakeholders.
- Build relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for legal matters within the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or an equivalent qualification.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- In-house experience with an international enterprise in the manufacturing sector is preferred.
- Preferred practice areas include commercial and labour laws; familiarity with data protection and intellectual property laws is a plus.
