Our client is a leading regional property and construction company. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Indirect Procurement to join their team. This role is crucial in managing a procurement team, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Your new role
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect categories, including IT, marketing, professional services, and facilities.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships to ensure the best value and service.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide procurement support.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for procurement activities.
- Oversee the procurement budget and ensure alignment with financial goals.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and market trends.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Experience in the construction industry is preferred but not essential.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in procurement is an advantage.
