Your new role

• Formal and Informal Leadership: Lead staff in Hong Kong and China, manage direct reports, and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain close relationships with key suppliers, support colleagues in managing supplier issues, and participate in partner selection.
• Product Development: Provide technical input for new product development initiatives and support quality control to ensure low levels of product defects.
• Quality Control: Oversee quality control over the manufacture of products in China and Vietnam to ensure high standards are maintained.
• Project Implementation: Lead local implementation of projects impacting the company's operations in Asia, such as office moves, establishing new legal entities, and setting up production in new countries.
• Operational Management: Oversee budget, forecasting, and operational costs, sign off on local payroll, and ensure occupational health and safety for all local staff.

What you'll need to succeed

• A degree Holder in Mechanical Engineering or related major is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in product development and manufacturing or electronics.
• 5+ years of experience managing OEM, ODM, and EMS suppliers in Asia.
• Proven track record of working successfully within a European-based MNC
• Experience managing teams from both individualistic and collectivist cultures.
• Adaptable style capable of high collaboration and independence.
• Open to travel to the EU, China, and Vietnam occasionally
• Fluent in English, Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin is a plus but not a must.
• HK permanganate residents are a must.
