Our client is a Global leading IoT machine R&D and Manufacturer, with a focus on continuous improvement, and streamlining their product. They are expanding their team and are seeking an experienced Global Supply Chain Specialist to join. For this position, you will manage the sourcing and supply management of components, modules, and devices. Your responsibilities will include identifying reliable manufacturers and suppliers, negotiating contracts, monitoring market trends, and optimising the supply chain to ensure the availability of high-quality components while minimising costs.
Your new role
- Supplier Identification and Evaluation: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for components or assembly, considering factors such as quality, reliability, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to ensure favourable terms and conditions for the organisation.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering effective communication and resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Production Planning Collaboration: Collaborate with production planning teams to align component supply with production schedules, avoiding shortages.
- Market Research and Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and market dynamics related to components used in the organisation's products. Conduct market research to identify potential cost savings, alternative suppliers, or new component sources that meet quality standards.
- Risk Management: Analyse market conditions and anticipate potential disruptions or supply chain risks, proactively developing contingency plans to mitigate such risks.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree from supply chain, engineering, or relative experience.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management operations, preferably in a manufacturing/machine position.
- Extensive experience in managing the sourcing and supply management of components, modules, and devices.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Experience of collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development, quality control, and production planning.
- The ability to stay updated on industry trends and conduct market research.
- Strong analytical skills to anticipate and mitigate supply chain risks.
