Mechanical Manager, R&D Consumer Electronics

Our client is a Hong Kong leading OEM/ODM/EMS Manufacturer, with a focus on smart home and consumer electronic products. They are expanding their team and are seeking an experienced and innovative Mechanical Engineering Manager to join them. This position ensures the successful execution of mechanical engineering processes throughout the product development cycle.

Your new role

  • Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Oversee OEM/ODM/EMS projects, ensuring effective collaboration with both global clients
  • Drive the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and products, managing the process from NPI (New Product Introduction) to mass production.
  • Conduct comprehensive design verification and troubleshooting to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Monitor and manage project schedules, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform detailed development schedule and cost analysis and review new product designs for feasibility and compliance.
  • Develop and implement engineering processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure project success.

What you'll need to succeed

    • Degree Holder in Mechanical Engineering. A Master’s in ME or a related major is preferred.
    • At least 10 years of relevant working experience in product design of plastic and sheet metal with SolidWorks, and 3 years at managerial level
    • Ability to design plastic housings for products such as consumer electronics, IoT or smart home device
    • Understanding of manufacturing and mechanical production processes.
    • Proficiency in using Mechanical CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
    • Expertise in creating detailed 2D drawings and performing tolerance calculations.
    • Understanding of mould design, FAI, and CPK.
    • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
    • Candidates with less experience will be considered for the role.
    • Actively Travel to Southern China is needed
