General Counsel, VC Firm, (Under 10 PQE)

Our client is a leading venture capital firm dedicated to investing in customer-obsessed businesses led by talented people. My client has invested in emerging companies, ranging from a European Jeweller, a Novel Publisher, Animal-Free Dairy Products and Aluminium Travel cases. Now, as their business and investment portfolio is growing, we are looking for a young, motivated and highly skilled lawyer to join their firm.

Responsibilities
  • Provides legal advice and support on venture capital transactions, including structuring, negotiating, and executing investment deals.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including term sheets, investment agreements, shareholder agreements, and other related contracts.
  • Conduct due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including reviewing corporate documents, financial statements, and other relevant materials.
  • Advise on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance and corporate governance matters for portfolio companies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including investment professionals, finance, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of transactions.
  • Represent the firm in negotiations and meetings with external parties, including investors, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other service providers as needed.

Requirements
  • LLB / JD from an accredited law school
  • Experience working with start-ups and emerging companies.
  • Minimum of 5 years PQE with experience in venture capital, corporate law, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of venture capital transactions, M&A, and securities law.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
