Our client is a Global leading IoT machine, with a focus on continuous improvement, and streamline their product. They are expanding their team and are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to join. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing enclosures and accessories for their product, with expertise in SolidWorks, tolerance analysis, thermal simulation, and plastic moulding processes will be essential.
Your new role
- Design mechanical components or assemblies using SolidWorks modelling based on professional standards.
- Prepare engineering documents, specifications, DFx, and technical reports.
- Verify mechanical designs, drawings, and solve technical problems.
- Provide solutions for engineering problems and lead problem-solving activities.
- Create and maintain engineering documents required for project planning and product development gate approval review.
- Review mechanical designs and assess the manufacturability of new designs.
- Analyse and verify mechanical designs independently using scientific approaches such as mathematics, physics, prototyping, tolerance analysis, CAE, FEM, simulations, DOE, etc.
- Control product BOM cost and related design schedule from a mechanical engineering perspective.
- Prepare mechanical engineering documents, such as BOM, component specifications, and technical reports, and support FMEA activities.
- Design fixtures and calibration processes for high-precision mechanical assemblies.
- Verify and qualify designed components from suppliers and participate in pilot production.
- Support product compliance certification activities.
- Demonstrate independence, responsibility, and self-initiative.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree Holder in Mechanical Engineering. A Master’s in ME or a related major is preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in product design of plastic and sheet metal with SolidWorks.
- The ability to design plastic housings for products such as smartphones and tablets.
- Understanding of manufacturing and mechanical production processes.
- Proficiency in using Mechanical CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
- Expertise in creating detailed 2D drawings and performing tolerance calculations.
- Understanding of mould design, FAI, and CPK.
- Experience managing vendors and factories.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Candidates with less experience will be considered for the role of Mechanical Engineer.
