THE START-UPS AND SCALES-UPS TACKLING GLOBAL CHALLENGES
Hays and Empact Ventures have released ‘The Tech for Good Report 2023’, showcasing the inspirational start-ups and scale-ups that are driving innovation to support environmental sustainability, enhance learning and development for children across the globe, and support the treatment of patients across the health sector.
Hays, the world’s leading specialist in workforce solutions and recruitment, and global tech ‘Super Connectors’, Empact Ventures, created ‘The Tech for Good Report 2023’ to showcase the winners of the 2022 Super Connect for Good competition.
The report features the companies and their founders who stood out from their peers in their specific innovation categories, which included AI for Good, HealthTech, MedTech, FinTech, FoodTech, and Climate Tech. The report contains insights for each of the featured entrepreneurs, including the inspirations behind their products, their approach to modern challenges, and how their future growth can lead to a positive impact.
The competition demonstrates how tech start-ups and scaleups are changing lives through education, healthcare and more, while providing them support to drive positive change by offering them a platform to develop.
The overall winner of the 2022 competition, Global Teacher, created a 3D-printed projector which requires no electricity or internet access. The projector was produced to share learning resources with children in developing countries unable to access modern materials by traditional means. Global Teacher also excelled in the annual Impact Challenge, in which applicants were challenged to outline how they could adapt their existing innovations to assist those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
James Milligan, Global Head of Technology Solutions at Hays, commented, “We have been proud to work alongside Empact Ventures since 2020, to co-design the Super Connect for Good competition. There was a wealth of great entries this year, each of which demonstrated how they are tackling the world’s most pressing issues and challenges through original ideas. The report brings that together and highlights the importance of the competition and why we provide this platform each year.”
Kosta Mavroulakis, Founder and CEO of Empact Ventures, commented, “We are delighted to have co-designed three editions of the Super Connect for Good competition with Hays to recognise, connect and support the world's most impactful Tech for Good startups and scaleups. The Tech for Good Report 2023 demonstrates that the founders of today care about the role they can play to tackle the world's most pressing issues right both now and beyond.”
The winners of the Super Connect for Good competition benefit from exposure and recognition, both regionally and globally, helping them to attract further opportunities for development, growth and sustainability. Partners of the competition also support their journey, from guaranteed pilots to funding and business support. All applicants are provided with super connections to potential partners, clients or funders.
The competition has grown in its global scope each year and, having previously been promoted across Europe, in 2022 the competition welcomed startups and scale-ups from Australia and New Zealand too. The Super Connect for Good 2023 competition will be expanding by inviting start-ups and scaleups from Asia to participate. There will also be two new Impact Challenges that will ask entrants to think about how they can tackle the pertinent, immediate problems posed by the mental health crisis and the need for clean drinking water for all.
Entries for the 2023 competition open in April, register your interest on the Super Connect for Good website here.
